Unimog Build Sheet - Installed Factory Options

The truck is a 2005 Mercedes Unimog U-500 model 405.230 with a GVW of 33,000 lbs.  
In addition to the standard features, the truck has the following factory options installed -
  • Tires: 395/85 R 20 Michelin XZL LRG (70 mph) installed with bead locks (replaced 10K miles / 2 years ago)
  • Wheelbase: 182" (frame lengthened from stock 154" for Unimog NA by Fontaine)
  • A30,A31 - CTIS: Central Tire Inflation System - front and rare axle pressures can be controlled independently and while rolling
  • A52 - Differential lock in front axle (i.e., in addition to standard rear and center locks)
  • B42 - Trailer brake package - air brake and electrical towing connections
  • C47 - Radiator Protection
  • D12 - Category 5 Implement Mounting Plate (used as front bumper mount on this truck)
  • D50 - rear mounting brackets (used as the rear bumper mount on this truck, mount for the pintle hitch and the Crosby swivel hoist ring)
  • D70 - mounting brackets left & right at frame underneath cab - unused
  • E44 - Jump start studs 
  • E45 - Front plug-in socket, 7 poles, SAEJ560
  • E53 - Preparation for CB/mobile telephone, 12V including antenna (aftermarket AM/FM/CD installed)
  • E54 - Preparation for two way radio 12V including antenna (Kenwood 2m/70cm ham transceiver installed with prep for more)
  • E55 - Antenna and two loudspeakers
  • F43 - Additional heater with engine pre-heating
    • This is a diesel furnace that preheats both the engine and cab.   It includes a timer so that it can have started up on its own in the morning and have things ready to go when you are.
  • G20 - Additional gearbox with working gear range
    • In total there are 16 forward gears and reverse gears 
  • L07 - Daytime running lights
  • L47 - Additional raised headlights for front-mounted implements in connection with raised additional indicator light;
    • These headlights are not mounted but the console-switched power is present and routed to that location and could be used for additional off-road lights, steerable beams, etc.
  • L59 - Support for rotating beacon road & curb side mounted, includes switch & wiring harness
    • The masts and power for these beacons is currently unused on this truck and so this translates to 20A of console-switched power routed and available on the roof of the cab.
  • M54 - Electric 1500W engine block heater
  • M55 - Fuel pre-warmer and water separator 
  • M89 - Grid heater at air intake
  • S26 - Heated Windshield
  • Z43 - Parts for low temperatures (cold start ability) (down to - 22 °F / - 30 °C)
  • N16 - High speed PTO (currently unused on this truck)
  • Q21 - Pintle hitch (6,000 lb tongue weight, 20,000 lb latch capacity, 30,000 lb gross trailer weight)
  • R34,T34 - CTIS tire rims & spare

    • the regular mirrors are electrically controlled from the cab (and are heated)
